️ Are you a compassionate and resilient Social Worker ready to support unaccompanied asylum-seeking children?
Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council is seeking a committed and experienced Social Worker to join our UASC Through Care Team. This vital role involves supporting some of the most vulnerable young people in our community—those who have arrived in the UK alone, often from difficult and traumatic circumstances.
Support unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people, aged 16–25, as they adjust to life in the UK.
Conduct strengths-based assessments and create tailored care and pathway plans.
Offer emotional and practical support to help young people integrate into the community and gain independence.
Collaborate with legal teams, immigration authorities, education providers, and health professionals.
Fulfil statutory duties in line with the Children Act 1989, safeguarding frameworks, and relevant immigration law.
✅ Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Experience working with Looked After Children, care leavers, or asylum-seeking young people.
Strong understanding of legislation, particularly around safeguarding, care leavers, and immigration.
Cultural sensitivity, emotional resilience, and a commitment to equality and inclusion.
