Core subject (Maths, English, or Science) SEN / SEND Tutors for Young People with SEND, SEMH, and other Additional Educational Needs required in West Yorkshire. Multiple positions are available; hiring is ongoing to meet the needs we support. We are on a mission to transform the quality of education for young people with SEN/SEND and other needs such as SEMH. This role is suitable for qualified SEN/SEND teachers who enjoy 1:1 tutoring with a variety of learning needs in a creative, flexible, holistic, and trauma-informed manner to raise engagement and improve educational outcomes.
At Targeted Provision our mission is to raise the standard of educational support offered to vulnerable young people in the UK. You will be supported throughout placements by our team of SEN/SEND Support Specialists.
SEN / SEND Tutor responsibilities
* Provide Maths, English, or Science tuition to young people with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, or other Additional Educational Needs referred to Targeted Provision.
* Support learners referred by local authorities and schools, helping with educational and social-emotional development through flexible, trauma-informed tutoring and mentoring.
* Plan each tutoring session and deliver holistic, engaging experiences that advance educational and social-emotional progress.
* Complete lesson reports and provide feedback on progress.
SEN / SEND Tutor tasks and responsibilities
* Plan each teaching/tutoring/mentoring session.
* Deliver holistic and engaging sessions tailored to individual needs.
* Complete lesson reports and provide progress feedback.
SEN / SEND Tutor requirements
* Professional Teaching Qualifications (QTS / QTLS).
* Minimum 2 years teaching experience.
* Experience with SEND, SEMH, MLD/SLD, and other Additional Educational Needs.
* Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding processes.
* Enhanced DBS (assistance with obtaining this at cost available).
* Two professional references.
* UK-based with right to work in the UK, including remote/online assignments.
It is a strict requirement to promote health, safety, and wellbeing of children and young people and to follow safeguarding policies at all times.
SEN / SEND Tutor employment status
* Engage with us as a Worker for short-term engagements as they arise.
* Contract for service; paid via PAYE.
* No guaranteed hours or expenses coverage.
* Our insurance covers the work you do for us.
* This is not a self-employed tutoring/teaching position.
