York hospital has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic highly specialised physiologist / clinical scientist in Cardio-respiratory on a fixed term or secondment basis.
The trust is undergoing an exciting period of development with the opening of a new cardiac catheterisation facility encompassing two new cardiac labs.
The individual will work with the current team to deliver the established ICD, CRT, CSP and PPM services including implantation and follow up.
The cardio-respiratory department in York offers an extensive range of procedures including ambulatory monitoring, exercise tolerance testing, lung function testing, echocardiography, TOE, stress echo, PPM, ICD, CRT and CSP implants and follow up, scientist ILR implantation and Syncope clinic.
The successful candidate will also be encouraged to continue personal development through further education and personal CPD. The department actively encourages and supports the undertaking of Masters Program's and the attendance of professional meetings and study days.
Key requirements
• MSc Clinical Science / BSc clinical physiology (or equivalent).
• BHRS or IBHRE professional accreditation.
• Post graduate experience and continued professional development.
• HCPC or RCCP registration preferred.

Main duties for this role include but are not limited to:
• Provides highly complex, specialist Cardio-Respiratory service to patients from a range of specialties suffering from a wide variety of medical disorders.
• Responsible for the provision, audit and quality of a specialist area of Cardio-Respiratory Physiology, Invasive Cardiology.
• Responsible for the development and training of Clinical Physiologists (Cardio-Respiratory) within the invasive cardiology area.
• Undertakes interpretation of results and provision of reports.
• Works collaboratively on a day-to-day basis with others to ensure that service needs are met.
• Responsible for the service delivery of an area and/or responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Cardio-Respiratory service in the absence of the Head of Department.
• Provides advice to clinicians
