The Vacancy
To support industries and authorities with their workforce development and skills readiness required to meet the technological advancements of the future.
The successful candidate will be responsible for working with multiple stakeholders to research regional or organizational skill gaps and identify new or evolving roles of strategic importance in the high-value manufacturing sector.
They will convert their findings into 'competency frameworks' and future learning interventions that will clearly define the responsibilities, knowledge, skills, and behaviors required across multiple emerging and future roles, with a particular emphasis on the defense sectors.
Activities will include:
* Liaising with key industry partners, such as awarding bodies, to drive collaboration and approval.
* Liaising with major high-value manufacturers and MTC members to drive collaboration and approval.
* Facilitating skills workshops with all stakeholders and MTC research engineers.
* Articulating the output of workshops into competency frameworks that clearly define the current and future requirements of roles within the industry.
* Project management of the assigned framework projects.
* Carrying out Training Needs Analysis or Organizational Needs Analysis for specific clients.
* Demonstrating excellent virtual facilitation and presentation skills.
* Demonstrating excellent IT/digital skills, including Power BI and proprietary tools such as miro.com and retool.com.
* Designing, implementing, and evaluating workshops/training sessions and similar activities.
* Creating and authoring support materials – briefings, PPTs, videos/animations in support of workshops.
* Developing, delivering, and adapting workshops and related processes based on own observations and user/participant feedback.
* Project planning and implementation – workshop scheduling.
* Demonstrating knowledge of organizational/workforce capability and occupational standards.
* Solving problems, finding root causes, and resolving any conflicts.
* Being fully competent in the use of MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Demonstrating knowledge in blended learning and development solutions most appropriate for differing complex organizations.
Essential Skills:
* Proven working experience in the nuclear/defense sector.
* Proven technical knowledge in the defense sector.
* Willingness to gain security clearance for certain projects.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in engineering/manufacturing.
* Understanding of occupational standards, trailblazer standards, and units.
* Understanding of educational levels, apprenticeships, and the apprentice levy.
* Educated to a relevant degree or Masters level or similar.
* Industrial experience in manufacturing/engineering.
* Experience working in apprenticeships.
* Strategic workforce planning.
* Identification of funding opportunities and creation of quotes for clients.
