Job Description:
Due to significant investment in plant and technology and company growth, a leading Print + Mailing company is looking for an Operations Director with 10+ years of industry experience to join its forward-thinking team.
The Operations Director will be responsible for the company's overall operational direction, management, and organization. This senior role involves driving efficiencies, improving productivity, and managing multiple departments including production, data, print, facilities, and health and safety. The ideal candidate must be a capable leader with thorough knowledge of company processes across these departments, able to plan operational activities, and discover the most efficient ways to run the business.
The goal is to safeguard and augment operational efficiency to facilitate continuous improvement, development, and long-term success.
Duties & Key Responsibilities:
1. Liaise with stakeholders and peers to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals.
2. Manage the Production Manager, Facilities Manager, Print Room Manager, and Data Manager.
3. Develop and implement a dynamic new MIS system with the assistance of the IT Director and Client Services Team.
4. Regularly evaluate the efficiency of operational procedures and apply improvements.
5. Manage the strategic procurement process of the latest print and mail technology.
6. Support the Client Services team to enhance customer satisfaction regarding operational capabilities.
7. Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
8. Revise and formulate policies, promoting their implementation.
9. Manage relationships and agreements with external partners and vendors.
10. Ensure conformity with the company’s four ISO standards through ongoing engagement and annual external audits.
11. Ensure all employees adhere to safety laws and regulations.
12. Evaluate overall performance by analyzing data and metrics.
13. Formulate and measure strategic KPIs.
14. Ensure legal compliance and adherence to established regulations.
15. Ensure operational employee compliance using Citation for Training, Holidays, and HR.
Skills Required:
1. Proven experience as an Operations Director or similar senior management role.
2. Excellent organizational skills.
3. Outstanding communication and leadership skills to motivate and inspire large, diverse teams.
4. Technical knowledge of leading industry machinery and capabilities.
5. Knowledge of industry legal rules and guidelines.
6. Deep understanding of various business functions (supply chain, finance, customer service, etc.).
7. Data analysis and performance metrics knowledge.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
