We are recruiting a full-time Service Support Officer to join our Countywide Disability Services – Central Supported Living Review Team. In this role, you’ll work alongside Team Managers, Social Workers, Social Care Assessors, and Occupational Therapy colleagues. Together, we deliver high-quality assessments and reviews for adults with disabilities living in diverse settings and receiving statutory services under the Care Act 2014.
What we’re looking for
1. We welcome applications from individuals with experience in administration or customer relations. While prior experience in the public sector is advantageous, it is not essential.
2. Strong organisational skills and a proactive approach, including an eye for detail.
3. Excellent communication skills, with confidence in liaising across all levels of Devon County Council and partner organisations.
4. A positive attitude and commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and high standards.
Your role
You will play a central part in supporting the delivery of the Countywide Teams, using IT systems such as CareFirst 6, Excel, Office 365, and BI reports (training provided).
Your responsibilities will include:
5. Minute-taking and preparing agendas/paperwork for meetings and forums.
6. Processing internal referrals and managing documentation.
7. Capturing data and producing reports to support service planning.
8. Data processing via Excel and internal IT systems.
9. Improving operational efficiency by ensuring accurate, timely documentation.
10. Enhancing service delivery by enabling practitioners and managers to focus on statutory work and strategic planning.
11. Working collaboratively with all Countywide teams that require your support.
What we offer
In return, you’ll join a supportive, motivated team committed to making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. This role provides an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge of social care and contribute to a developing service that is evolving to meet the needs of Adult Social Care. As the Council embraces flexible working, you will also have opportunities to work from home for parts of the role.
