Transport & Logistics Operations Manager - Tanker Services
A fantastic opportunity in the Water sector has arisen with our client, who is seeking an experienced Transport Operations / SHEQ Compliance Manager to support their growth in Burntwood.
Salary: £50k, pension, discounts, 25 days holiday plus 8 B/H
Location: Burntwood and surrounding areas
Our client is a leading organisation in water management, operating their own transport facilities to provide comprehensive services to commercial customers.
They are looking to hire a skilled Transport Operations Manager to support their operation.
PREVIOUS ROLES: Tanker Transport Manager, Transport Supervisor, Transport Operations Manager, Depot Supervisor, Depot Manager, Logistics Manager, Distribution Manager
IDEAL BACKGROUNDS INCLUDE: Chemicals, Sewage Treatment, Anaerobic Digestion, Industrial Services, Petrol, Waste Water, Hazardous Waste, Dewatering, Milk, Gas, Gypsum, Sugar though any transport Management background considered
Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee fleet management compliance, including vehicle maintenance, driver’s hours legislation, tachograph data processing, recording Annual Leave/Sickness, and facilitating transport team training.
Manage FORS and Achilles audits and maintain related documentation.
Ensure strict adherence to safety legislation and promote safe working practices.
Conduct regular fleet inspections to meet Operator Licence commitments.
Ensure compliance with DVSA guidelines and roadworthiness requirements.
Maintain high legal compliance standards through effective policies, processes, and procedures.
Develop and implement Health & Safety training programs.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and IT skills required; data analysis experience is a plus.
Desirable Qualifications:
• You will have experience in Transport & Logistics and have supervised or managed a team
• You will ideally have a Transport Managers CPC
• You will have experience managing a team
• You will have a UK driving licence
• NEBOSH General
• Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)
• IEMA Environmental Awareness Training
• EUSR Water Hygiene Certification
• ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 auditing or implementation
