SEND Teaching AssistantPerry Common, Birmingham (easily accessible via public transport, with a short walk for non-drivers)£110-£120 per dayStart Date: ASAPContract: Full-time, long-term temp-to-perm (Full Academic Year)Long Term Futures is currently recruiting for a supportive and motivated Teaching Assistant who is keen to further their experience within a SEND secondary school setting.If you are approachable, resilient, and professional, with a strong understanding of SEND and a passion for supporting secondary-aged pupils, this could be a great opportunity to progress your career.About the Role Working closely with teaching staff, the SENCo, and other professionals, your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to): * Supporting students both in lessons and in alternative learning environments * Assisting teachers in delivering engaging and well-structured lessons across Key Stages * Setting clear and consistent expectations tailored to individual student needs * Using positive behaviour strategies to support engagement and progress * Monitoring student progress and behaviour, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate * Supporting students outside of the classroom to help them regulate before reintegrating into lessons * Encouraging independence, resilience, and positive social interaction among pupilsIdeal Candidate Profile * Experience working with secondary-aged pupils with SEND * Calm, confident, and able to respond effectively to challenging behaviour * Able to build strong, professional relationships while maintaining firm boundaries * Reliable and committed to a long-term placement - consistency is vital for students * Resilient and adaptable, with a proactive approach to supporting young peopleWhy Work with Long Term Futures? * Long-term opportunities offering stability and the chance to make a meaningful impact * Weekly pay through a straightforward and efficient digital system * Free CPD opportunities, including Behaviour Management, SEMH, and Positive Handling * Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant throughout your placementNext Steps Apply today with your CV, and shortlisted candidates will be contacted by Elliott at Long Term Futures.
