As a Machine Setter, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of packing lines within a fast-paced food production environment. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for setting up and adjusting machinery to achieve optimal performance, maintaining high standards of product quality and safety.
This is a full time, permanent position. Due to the location of the site, own transport is essential, as is an FLT license. The site operates 24/7 so a flexible approach to working 12 hour rotating shifts is needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and run packing lines, including product feed, bagging, technical checks, and transfer to warehouse.
Adjust machine settings and parameters to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
Carry out basic maintenance tasks in collaboration with shift engineers.
Monitor and record production data accurately using stock systems.
Ensure compliance with food safety standards and site hygiene requirements.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets.
About You
We are looking for candidates who have:
Previous experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally food, or FMCG.
Knowledge of machine setting and adjustment in a production setting.
Food Safety Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain).
Awareness of BRC standards and health & safety practices (IOSH Working Safely desirable).
A proactive, problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
