Role overview We are seeking an enthusiastic individual willing to learn the operational requirements of the Filtronic Supply Chain, from raising Purchase Orders and receiving goods in a fast-moving stores environment to shipping finished products. All training will be provided. This role is ideal for someone who is considering a new career or change of career into supply chain management and looking for a supportive environment to learn in. Role summary You will be trained and mentored to become familiar and competent with all functions relating to the operations of the Supply Chain, encompassing the Purchasing and Stores departments Raising Purchase Orders in line with identified requirements for materials and resources Liaising with suppliers to ensure requirements are understood and met Receiving all deliveries and checking the goods received Liaising with Purchasing regarding deliveries and discrepancies in stock Keeping detailed records of shortages and processing of requisitions Updating inventory management systems regularly and ensuring full traceability is maintained Picking goods in line with shop floor requirements Organising collection and despatch of goods through 3rd party software Ensuring all goods are stored in appropriate environmental conditions Packing products to ensure safe transit Booking freight collections to ensure timely and accurate delivery to customers. Occasionally supporting the creation of delivery paperwork for outbound shipments Requirements Essential: Able to demonstrate good numeracy and literacy skills. Experience with Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel - ability to work with spreadsheets, data entry, and basic formulas to support inventory management and reporting Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills - comfortable communicating effectively with suppliers, colleagues, and external logistics partners Willingness to learn and develop new skills - showing enthusiasm for training and a proactive approach to understanding supply chain processes and systems Positive attitude and resilience - maintaining professionalism and adaptability in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team - supporting colleagues across Purchasing and Stores functions whilst contributing to departmental goals Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and understand priorities - managing multiple tasks simultaneously whilst maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines Desirable: Previous experience in stores, warehouse, or logistics environment - understanding of goods receipt, stock management, or dispatch processes Familiarity with inventory management systems or ERP software - exposure to computerised stock control systems would be advantageous Interest in pursuing a career in supply chain management - potential to work towards professional qualifications such as CIPS in the future Additionally, you will receive: Comprehensive hands-on experience across multiple areas of the Supply Chain - exposure to purchasing, goods receipt, inventory management, and dispatch operations, providing a broad foundation for your career development Personal development - clear learning pathway with regular reviews and opportunities to progress within the supply chain function as your skills and knowledge develop Full training - dedicated support from experienced Purchasing and Stores team members, with comprehensive on-the-job training covering all systems, processes, and best practices A supportive and collaborative team environment - working alongside knowledgeable colleagues who are committed to helping you succeed and grow in your role Benefits We recognise the value of exceptional talent.
