Overview of the Senior Pricing Data Scientist role
Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for a Senior Pricing Data Scientist to join a growing insurance business within its pricing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical and commercially minded pricing professional to take on a role with real ownership, visibility and influence.
The successful candidate will support the continued growth of a specialist insurance product, using data, insight and pricing analysis to inform decision-making and help shape future pricing activity.
Key responsibilities of the Senior Pricing Data Scientist will include
* Preparing detailed pricing analysis to support senior decision-making
* Reviewing data and producing clear, accurate insight with minimal technical oversight
* Recommending pricing actions based on analysis, trading performance and wider business context
* Interpreting key trends and presenting relevant findings to stakeholders
* Applying commercial judgement when balancing technical accuracy, speed and market conditions
* Prioritising workload based on likely business impact and value
* Working closely with MI and data teams to improve reporting, insight and data availability
* Supporting the development of pricing capability across the product area
Required experience and qualifications of the Senior Pricing Data Scientist will include
* Experience working within personal lines insurance pricing
* Strong statistical and analytical skills
* Experience using data to identify patterns, trends and commercial opportunities
* A degree in a numerate subject, or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of machine learning techniques for analysis and production
* Experience using Python and/or SQL would be advantageous
* Household insurance pricing experience would be beneficial
* A pragmatic, curious and solutions-focused approach
* Ability to work at pace while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
