We are recruiting for an Acute Oncology Nurse Specialist who shares our vision to provide consistently outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic and expanding Acute Oncology Service (AOS) Nursing Team at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC), a renowned tertiary hospital at the forefront of cancer care in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the AOS Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) team by providing advice and support to patients with acute symptoms of cancer and/or treatment.
* Work collaboratively with advanced clinical practitioners (ACP) and the multi‑disciplinary team (MDT) to ensure efficient patient pathways, positive patient experience and safe discharge.
* Provide 24‑hour telephone triage during daytime shifts and participate in the face‑to‑face AOS Assessment Unit.
* Prioritise admissions to inpatient wards according to admission criteria.
* Provide cover across MVCC’s acute oncology areas as required, acting as a professional role model and delivering direct and indirect clinical care, teaching and research.
* Maintain flexibility in clinical practice and support any MVCC area specified.
Job Details and Compensation
Employment type: Full‑time. Seniority level: Mid‑Senior. Location: Northwood, Hertfordshire.
Compensation: 15% High‑Cost Area Supplement of the basic salary (minimum £4,552 and maximum £5,735 per annum, pro‑rata).
