The guest services department is the main point of contact for guest enquiries. In this role, you will provide guests with advice, answer queries, and resolve problems. The ideal candidate needs to be confident when handling guest queries and complaints and escalate where necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, and the candidate must be willing to interact with guests both over the telephone and face-to-face.
Principal Duties and Role Responsibility
You will operate daily as part of a small team with minimal supervision from the Head of Venue Security. Planning and prioritising tasks received via venue management to ensure they are completed within agreed timescales and according to priority is expected. Demonstrating initiative in organising your work is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Meeting, greeting, and welcoming visitors professionally and warmly to create a positive first impression.
* Opening venue function rooms as required.
* Performing general clerical duties.
* Managing lost and found property according to venue policies.
* Handling cash payments when necessary.
* Answering incoming calls and directing them appropriately, taking messages or screening calls.
* Managing courier deliveries and postal duties.
* Producing venue signage.
* Directing visitors to meeting rooms and managing VIP guests.
* Fire marshalling during guest visits.
* Sharing local knowledge to enhance guest experience.
* Maintaining an up-to-date visitors' book and providing name badges.
* Handling sensitive situations confidentially.
* Delivering clear and succinct verbal reports.
* Communicating effectively with colleagues, clients, visitors, and the public.

Job Details
* Work pattern: 5 days in 7, including weekends, as per business needs.
