The Opportunity
This isn’t just a job—it’s a future-defining opportunity for a confident and experienced Audit & Accounts Manager. With two Responsible Individuals (RIs) due to retire in the next five years, the firm is seeking someone who can grow into a leadership role, take on strategic client relationships, and ultimately progress to equity partnership.
You’ll take a lead role in a growing audit department, managing a portfolio of clients including large corporate groups (turnovers up to £180m), as well as a wide range of owner-managed businesses. You’ll also provide commercial insight, mentor junior staff, and help shape the future of the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead audits from planning through to review stage (approx. 50% of the role)
Manage a varied portfolio of audit and general practice clients (£1m–£50m turnover)
Review and prepare complex year-end accounts
Deliver proactive tax planning and business advice
Host client meetings and build long-term relationships
Guide and mentor junior team members
Contribute to business development and client retention strategies
Progress towards taking on RI status and equity partnership
What We’re Looking For:
ACA/ACCA qualified with 4+ years of UK practice experience
Strong audit experience, including medium to large corporate groups
Solid technical knowledge across audit, accounts, and tax
Excellent communication and relationship management skills
A commercially minded, proactive individual with leadership potential
A genuine desire to progress into senior leadership and ownership
