The starting salary for this position is £46,399 per annum based on a 36 hour (full-time) working week. We will also consider applications for part-time hours.

This is a secondment opportunity ending on 7th August 2026. Please seek approval from your current line manager when applying for internal secondment opportunities.

Due to promotion within the team, we are now hiring a new Senior Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic Learning Disabilities and Autism team. The team are vibrant, hardworking and passionate in their roles of supporting and enabling adults to thrive and participate in meaningful occupation. As a county wide team based in Reigate (Woodhatch Place) and Guildford (Millmead), we endorse Surrey's agile way of working, which includes a minimum of two days a week in the office for full time staff, and one day a week for part time.

About the Role

As an established specialist Occupational Therapy Service within the Adult Social Care, we continue to develop and implement innovative ideas and work collaboratively with our adult social care colleagues. We use a range of clinical knowledge to advise our OT interventions including sensory and postural informed approaches. Our interventions are focused on supporting adults to achieve their aspirations, goals and improve their quality of life.

This is a varied role, and on a day-to-day basis you can expect to be involved in the following:

* Visiting adults in their own homes, supported living, care homes, educational establishments, day services and in the community.
* Carrying out assessments and giving advice regarding complex moving and handling, the provision of specialist equipment and property design and adaptation
* Conducting detailed occupational therapy assessments to guide potential skills gain interventions for residents, as well as advising on right-sizing for funded care and support needs.
* Providing advice and support to adults, their family carers and independent support providers, enabling them to move on to a more independent lifestyle.

We invest in Surrey's "grow your own" apprenticeship scheme and consistently have students and apprentices. You will have an opportunity to supervise trainees and engage in reflective supervision. We have specialist mandatory training with agreed funding to support your developing clinical knowledge, alongside in house regular CPD sessions and leadership development.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your CV and personal statement will need to clearly evidence the following:

* Professional qualification in Occupational Therapy and current registration with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
* Experience working with complex cases and how you prioritise and manage risks
* Knowledge of key legislation that you use in your daily practice to support clinical reasoning and decision making
* Any direct experience or lived experience you have working with, or supporting, adults with profound and multiple learning disabilities / autism
* Experience supporting registered and non-registered staff within their job roles
* Any key transferable skills you will be bringing to enhance our Learning disability and Autism Occupational Therapy team
