Mane are seeking an experienced and proactive Mechanical or Electrical Design Manager to join our Clients growing team. The successful candidate will oversee and coordinate the design process for MEP services across a portfolio of high-specification Commercial, Industrial, and Bankingfit-out projects. You will play a key role in ensuring design integrity, coordination, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle—from concept to completion. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the design processor mechanical and/or electrical services, ensuring integration with architectural and structural elements. Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal project teams to interpret requirements and deliver practical, cost-effective, and compliant design solutions. Review and coordinate all MEP designs produced by external consultants or in- house teams, ensuring adherence to project specifications, industry regulations, and client expectations. Oversee technical submissions, calculations, drawings, and schedules during design development. Attend and contribute to design workshops, coordination meetings, and client presentations. Identify and resolve design clashes or technical issues through effective communication with stakeholders. Support pre-construction and procurement teams with design input, value engineering, and programme planning. Ensure designs align with the clients quality standards, sustainability targets ,and health & safety policies. Requirements: Degree-qualified in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or related discipline). Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a design manager role within the construction, building services, or fit-out sector. Background working for a mechanical engineering company, building services contractor, or design consultancy. Proven experience managing MEP design on Commercial, Industrial, or high-end Banking fit-out projects. Strong understanding of UK building regulations, CIBSE guides, and industry standards. Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, etc.). Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment. Desirable: Chartered status (CEngor working toward). Experience with BIM Level 2 coordination processes. Knowledge of sustainability frameworks such as BREEAM or LEED.
