Overview
As a Retail Optical Assistant at Vision Express, you’ll assist our customers in finding eyewear that meets their needs. You’ll help with frame adjustments, repairs, and fittings. You may perform some pre-screening eye examinations and administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, supporting the phone lines from customer queries and processing payments.
Responsibilities
* Provide excellent customer service with personalised assistance to customers and address their needs and concerns.
* Communicate clearly and build rapport, translating professional terminology into language understandable to customers.
* Maintain accurate customer records, prescriptions, and requirements to provide the best service and product recommendations.
* Work as part of a team with colleagues across the store.
* Remain composed under pressure in a fast-paced retail environment.
* Demonstrate confidence, passion, drive and enthusiasm in delivering service and product knowledge.
* Inform customers about optical products and services (frames, lenses, contact lenses) and promote offerings to help achieve store targets.
* Ensure the store environment is visually appealing and well stocked in line with store marketing guidance.
* Support pre-screening eye examinations where applicable and handle related administrative tasks.
Qualifications / What we’re looking for
* Excellent customer service skills with the ability to provide personalised assistance and address customer needs.
* Strong communication and rapport-building skills; ability to explain technical information clearly.
* High attention to detail to maintain accurate records and recommendations.
* Team player who can collaborate with colleagues across the store.
* Ability to work under pressure in a retail environment.
* Confidence, enthusiasm and a proactive attitude.
* Knowledge and understanding of optical products and services, including frames, lenses, and contact lenses, and the ability to inform customers and promote products to support store targets.
* Ability to keep the store organised and visually appealing according to guidelines.
