We are looking for a Day Support Worker to join our team at The Squirrels.
Welcome to The Squirrels, a space of care and empowerment designed exclusively for adults with autism and learning disabilities. We understand that at times you may experience behaviours that challenge; however, our commitment is unwavering: to cultivate an environment that is safe, comfortable, and effective in promoting independence and positive community integration.
Our facilities include 9 bedrooms with en-suite shower rooms, a spacious garden, communal living areas such as a lounge, dining room, cinema room, and The Hub activity area, as well as a sensory haven. The garden offers opportunities for sports and outdoor activities.
About The Role
We offer a 42-hour contract, working from 7:45 am until 7:45 pm, with 3 shifts one week and 4 the next (working two weekends a month).
* Supporting residents in their daily activities and interests, including regular access to the local community
* Assisting residents with basic personal needs, cooking, and cleaning
* Monitoring and checking residents during shifts
* Updating and recording resident records to monitor health and well-being

What You Will Need
* A positive attitude and caring approach
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work as part of a team
* Minimum of 6 months UK experience in a care role with learning disabilities and autism
