South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist for the 12‑bed female medium secure ward (Skipton Ward) at Cheswold Park Hospital.
The role involves providing clinical leadership, direct patient care, teaching, audit, and service improvement in a female medium secure environment.
Responsibilities
* Cover and manage the 12‑bed female medium secure ward.
* Lead a multidisciplinary team, providing clinical leadership and supervision.
* Develop and implement individual care plans for patients with mental illness and personality disorder.
* Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
* Participate in quality improvement, audit, and research activities.
* Ensure compliance with MHA, MCA, and Trust policies.
* Collaborate with external agencies and liaise with families or carers.
Qualifications
* MBBS/MBChB or equivalent medical qualification.
* MRCPsych.
* Full registration with the GMC and a licence to practise.
* Included on the GMC Specialist Register for Forensic Psychiatry or General Psychiatry with a special interest in Forensic Psychiatry within six months of appointment.
* Approved clinician status and S12 status achieved within three months of appointment.
Experience
* Experience in forensic psychiatry or medium secure services.
* Experience leading clinical audits and service improvement projects.
* Experience in research or service evaluation.
