Pay and Reward Consultant Salary - £44,075 - £49,282 (Grade 7) Hours - 37 Contract type - full time, permanent post This role requires a minimum of one day per week in the office, with additional attendance as needed to support service delivery We are looking for an experienced pay and reward professional to join our People Services team to ensure the development and effective implementation of the City of Wolverhampton Council’s approach to pay, grading and reward. With that in mind… do you have in-depth knowledge of developing employee benefits within a large, complex organisation, job evaluation frameworks and processes, and experience of implementing job evaluation schemes? Are you familiar with current legislation, priorities, and trends in the field of pay and reward? If yes, please read on…… As a member of the Pay and Reward team you will support the People Policy and Strategy Lead to ensure the maintenance of pay equality and the management and development of pay and reward strategy to support our people policies and strategies. You will: Develop and implement pay and reward related initiatives across the Council, such as benefit schemes. Be a technical expert for job evaluation ensuring all jobs in the Council are assessed under the relevant job evaluation schemes (e.g. single status, hay, agenda for change). Manage and co-ordinate the Council’s salary sacrifice and other schemes Support the design, development and implementation of the Council’s pay and grading policy and procedures Have considerable experience of working effectively with Trade Unions and providing technical and specialist pay and reward advice to numerous stakeholders Monitor and report on pay equality and carry out pay benchmarking and pay audits to meet statutory requirements and organisational priorities, including providing support to equal pay risk management. Whilst the successful candidate will undertake the full scope of the role there will be a particular focus on benefits and reward as we undertake a large procurement exercise. Some roles are agile which enable and empower employees to maximise their performance and productivity, whilst maintaining a healthy work life balance. Roles with a fixed workstyle work in a fixed permanent council location. Roles with a field workstyle are usually allocated where employees are required to be out working in the community with a minimum requirement for 'touch down' space at any council location. Roles with a flexible workstyle have a flexible base location to meet the needs of the business and employees can work from a mixture of home or any council office, partner/client, or external location, as required to meet service requirements.
