Program Overview
The Graduate Programme Cyber Security Analyst role is part of the DVLA's Centre of Digital Excellence. It combines formal learning with hands‑on experience in one of DVLA’s Digital Teams.
You will undertake formal learning and build skills in DVLA's Information Technology Services (ITS) department, working closely with experienced Cyber Security Professionals.
The programme is designed to give you a solid foundation for a highly sought‑after career in cyber security over a two‑year intensive period.
Responsibilities
* Initially assigned to the SOC, you will receive training to analyse security events using modern detective and analytics tooling and to respond to security incidents.
* Equip yourself to fulfil the role of a Tier 1 SOC Analyst, and gain exposure to Tier 2 SOC responsibilities.
* Learn the basics of cyber risk analysis and risk management, evaluating the security relevance of technical and IT changes.
* As your experience grows, acquire the basics of security architecture and an understanding of a range of security tools and controls.

* Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a STEM subject.
* Interest in cyber security with an analytical mindset.
* Ability to make decisions under pressure.
