A progressive and rewarding role has arisen in South Norfolk for a Cost Accountant. This role will involve significant engagement outside the finance function with close interaction with sales, engineering and operations. Furthermore, this will gain have visibility at a board level and regular interaction with the CEO and founder as well as the CFO. The role: The business is on a journey to profitability and following significant investment needs a highly detailed insight into margins and costs. The goal is a single source of financial and operational information which is consistent and provides useful information to all users to support decision making. Key Responsibilities: Cost Analysis and Reporting:Analyse and report on project and production costs, material costs, labour costs, and overhead expenses. Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses. Revenue recognition and project profitability analysis. Support the business to ensure project and products are accounted for in accordance with standards of recognition and the requirements of the funders. Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and provide insights on cost-saving opportunities. Inventory Management:Oversee inventory control and provide insight to the business. Conduct regular inventory audits and work with relevant teams to reconcile discrepancies. Product Costing:Develop and maintain accurate product costing models for new and existing products. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure accurate cost allocation. Margin analysis: work with the wider business to understand and report accurate margin and provide detailed analysis to management to support commercial decision making. Research and development: collate financial information for research and development activities, including grant claims, tax credit and other related items such as intangible assets. Process Improvement:Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost efficiency and accuracy. Support the implementation of cost control measures. Cross-Functional Collaboration:Work closely with other departments, including engineering, production, and procurement, to gather and analyse cost-related data.Qualifications and Experience: Professional accounting qualification or QBE Proven experience as a Cost Accountant in a manufacturing, project or R&D environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Experience of ERP systems Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team To apply, please submit your CV or contact Kate Edwards at Pure
