We are looking for a reliable and skilled Painter & Decorator to support the upkeep and refurbishment of our care home on a 6‑month fixed term contract. This role is essential in helping us maintain a warm, welcoming and safe environment for our residents, families and staff. About the Role
As our Painter & Decorator, you will carry out a range of internal and external painting, decorating and maintenance tasks to ensure the home remains bright, clean and well‑presented. You will work closely with the Home Manager and the maintenance team, following agreed schedules while ensuring minimal disruption to residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out painting, decorating and minor repair work to a high standard
* Prepare surfaces, including sanding, filling and priming
* Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper or protective coatings as required
* Maintain cleanliness and safety in all work areas
* Ensure tools, equipment and materials are used safely and stored correctly
* Work respectfully around residents, maintaining a calm and tidy work environment
* Complete tasks to agreed timescales and report progress or issues promptly
* Adhere to health and safety policies and site regulations
About You
We're looking for someone who is:
* Experienced in painting and decorating (care home or similar setting is a bonus)
* Reliable, organised and able to work independently
* Friendly, respectful and mindful of working in a residential care environment
* Able to communicate clearly with residents, staff and managers
* Committed to safe working practices
Requirements
* Previous experience in painting and decorating roles
* Ability to carry out physical tasks safely
* Right to work in the UK
