History Teacher – Secondary School – Bolton
A secondary school in Bolton is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic History Teacher to join their team from Easter 2026. This is a full‑time position suitable for an experienced teacher or an ECT looking to further develop their practice in a supportive environment. Candidates will be paid to scale based on their MPS/UPS.
The successful candidate will deliver engaging and well-structured History lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, contribute to the wider humanities curriculum, and play an active role in the school community.
Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality History lessons in line with the national curriculum
* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
* Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that promotes engagement
* Support the school’s behaviour policies and uphold safeguarding standards
* Participate in departmental meetings, training, and wider school activities
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
* Strong subject knowledge in History
* Experience teaching in a secondary school setting
* A proactive, committed and professional approach
* Ability to motivate and inspire learners of all abilities

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
