We are seeking a Manager to lead our Economic Crime Unit (ECU), which is part of the National Environmental Crime Unit (NECU). The successful candidate will lead a specialist team dedicated to removing the financial benefit from criminals.

Responsibilities
* Provide strategic leadership for managing financial investigations to ensure compliance with the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
* Lead and motivate a dispersed team, including two Team Leaders (Asset Denial Team and Money Laundering Investigation Team) and a Senior Financial Intelligence Officer.
* Collaborate with internal teams (Investigatory Teams, Intelligence & Partnerships, Legal) and external partners (Police, National Crime Agency, HMRC) to influence at senior levels and align with EA priorities.
* Support the wider organisation in improving practices, sharing lessons learned, updating technical documentation, and advising enforcement officers nationwide on POCA.
* Contribute to the development of the Economic Crime Unit (two teams: Asset Denial Team and Money Laundering Investigations Team) and its multidisciplinary staff (Financial Investigators, Financial Intelligence Officers, Crime Analysts).
* Engage in continuous improvement of working practices and capability development within the team.
Experience/skills required
* Exceptional leadership skills, ideally with experience in leading a dispersed team.
* Strong understanding of financial investigations and the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
* Experience in:
* Working in the law enforcement sector and understanding the National Intelligence Model
* Communicating effectively, including delivering feedback, managing performance, and building relationships with external stakeholders
* Working under pressure and prioritising a varied workload
* Identifying areas for improvement and leading changes to working practices
* Developing and enhancing the capability of a team and the individuals within it

Additional information
This is a hybrid role with flexible working from home and your nearest office. Travel across the country may be required for meetings and operational duties. Incident response is part of the role and you may be asked to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident, which may attract additional pay. Training and workplace adjustments are available to support you.
