Introduction 18-month contract, part time (60 hours per fortnight), based from any of our Action Centres across Australia (hybrid WFH arrangements available) Exciting opportunity to play a lead role in developing people powered strategies for human rights change Grow our movement by developing actions and tactics that engage people to deepen their involvement and to drive impact Help challenge injustice by using your digital campaigning and mobilising skills and in developing community activations This is an exciting opportunity to join our community campaigning team on an 18-month contract. As one of our mobilisation coordinators you will be responsible for ensuring that we have a growing movement of people ready to take action for human rights campaigns. This role is critical in developing meaningful supporter journeys that result in visibly being able to demonstrate the power of our movement to decision makers. The role has a responsibility under the people powered strategy to optimise the activist experience and in establishing cross sector partnerships for shared action. Reporting to the community campaigns manager and supporting the Activism and Membership Committee (AMC) of the Board, this role is key to delivering people powered campaigns. The salary for this position is $106,160 per annum (pro rata for part time) 12% super optional salary packaging. Description As part of this role, you will: Develop both online and offline mobilisation strategies that increase the propensity for action over time for AIA campaigns and deepens people commitment to human rights In consultation with the strategic campaigner and campaign organiser, design and develop campaign asks, step ups and tactics which includes activities such as creating toolkits and webinars for supporters and engaged audiences Take responsibility for ensuring digital briefs, web pages and petitions are developed and updated In consultation with the movement experience team, ensure deeper engagement is driven on individual at risk cases Ensure handover of actions is mapped into campaign plans as a critical act of demonstration of people power in action Look for opportunities to highlight and celebrate the work of AIA’s movement to demonstrate people power and its impact Activism research, monitoring and evaluation, including researching, innovating, testing and evaluating new and emerging activism trends and techniques Liaise with the International Secretariat and other AI Sections on mobilisation strategy and tactics Performing role to a high standard within agreed timelines, and in line with AIA’s vision and values Implement our diversity, inclusion and wellbeing commitments as required. Other tasks within your skills and competence as required Skills And Experiences You will have: Demonstrated experience of developing and delivering mobilisation strategies with proven results Solid technical knowledge and skills: experience using digital engagement tools and ability to learn and adapt quickly to using new tools An understanding of data management and ability to apply data to strategy A solid understanding of the political system in Australia and how to apply it to mobilisation strategies Experience of working with or a demonstrated commitment to working with and alongside communities of lived experience Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills to build understanding and agreement on strategies and plans across diverse teams Experience of managing projects towards achievement of agreed outcomes Please provide an example that demonstrates your ability to devise and execute creative and impactful activism strategies for social change campaigns.
