This role is a fantastic opportunity for apprenticeswho are currently studying for NVQ Level 2/3, apprentices should note that thesalary would be Agenda for Change Annex 21 trainee rate (75%max of band)until they have completed their apprenticeship.
This is an exciting opportunity tojoin the pre-assessment admin team at Barnsley Hospital. Pre-assessment is acore department within the trust and has a high turn around of patients thatare awaiting elective surgery under all specialities. The post holder willbecome a part of a small busy team based at Barnsley hospital. The team mainlycovers general reception duties. Including but not exclusiveto answering telephone calls from both internal peers and patients, booking andamending pre-assessment appointments. Manning the front desk in rotation,booking in patients and managing appointments. Pre-operative prepping andallocation of patient theatre notes, and dealing with patient queries, liaisingwith different departments and specialities.

Qualifications
* Educated to GSCE (9 to 4 Level) or equivalent
* NVQ in Customer Care
* In around 100 words please describe what Equality & Diversity means to you and why they are important.

Experience
* Experience of Microsoft computer packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Experience working in an NHS environment
* Experience of appointment/scheduling systems
Knowledge and Awareness

* Understanding of the need for confidentiality
* Awareness of Health and Safety requirements
* Knowledge of PAS, in-patient and out-patient modules
* Knowledge of NHS waiting time targets
