Senior Procurement Manager – MBDA
Location: Bristol, United Kingdom
Salary: approximately £50,000‑£55,000 depending on experience
Dynamic hybrid working: 2‑3 days per week on site
Security clearance: British Citizen or Dual UK national with British citizenship. All successful candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS).
Overview
MBDA’s Major Equipment Procurement team is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead a small team of procurement professionals who manage multiple critical supplier work packages, including Rocket Motors, Launchers, Warheads and Seeker Systems. The role is dynamic and fast‑paced, supporting a range of sophisticated sub‑system equipment, services and technology suppliers worldwide.
Responsibilities
* Lead and inspire a small procurement team, ensuring they deliver on company and project objectives.
* Develop and implement a clear vision for the team and procurement strategy.
* Provide commercial and contractual advice, mentorship on export control, offset, industrial participation and intellectual property, and support to team members and internal customers.
* Synthesize multiple sophisticated inputs to establish direction and sustain value‑added activities.
* Handle major supplier relationships and lead negotiations across platforms and programmes.
* Provide advice and guidance on high‑risk suppliers to senior management.
* Draft and negotiate subcontracts, manage supplier programmes, and ensure suppliers meet contractual obligations to support MBDA’s delivery landmarks.
Qualifications
* Strong experience in subcontract management.
* Ability to negotiate and knowledge of terms and conditions.
* Proven evidence of innovation and implementation of standard methodology.
* Qualified in a business subject area, procurement or supply chain accreditations, or equivalent experience.
* Excellent problem‑solving in a commercial environment.
* Experience in reporting and cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to influence and manage multiple relationships.
* Analytical skills with the ability to assess risks and communicate options.
* Team management and leadership experience.
