The Finance Team
The LNT finance function has grown considerably over the last 5 years, to a headcount of c.45 people across all disciplines and divisions.
The finance function is led by the Group Finance Director and is split into 3 main teams – construction, care opco and the group team.
As part of the people agenda, the LNT Finance Talent Academy was launched in 2023, providing a structured pathway & tailored experience for the right individuals to develop & progress their careers in the business.
LNT is also an ICAEW Authorised Training Employer.
The Role
This is a key role within the group, where the post holder will assist the Group Accountant in maintaining and preparing key financial information.
The role offers the opportunity to build a good understanding of basic accounting principles and controls and to be part of a fast-growing Yorkshire based entrepreneurial business.
Key responsibilities
The position will have responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:
* Support the preparation and submission of monthly Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns
* Maintain accurate and organised filing systems to support compliance requirements
* Prepare monthly management information for a number of SPV/development entities
* Process purchase and inter‑company sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner
* Perform regular bank reconciliations
* Raise payments through the online banking system
* Prepare summaries of bank balances to support group cashflow projections
* Reconcile intercompany balances across group entities
* Prepare VAT returns
* Obtaining and reconciling supplier statements
* Assist in maintaining interest schedules to track the group’s debt
* Provide ad hoc support to the business’ key stakeholders as required
Requirements
* Suitable for a new entry into accounting or an AAT trainee
* Strong desire to work with a dynamic and fast‑growing business
* Demonstrates a proactive attitude and a strong willingness to learn
* Personable and able to work as a team
* Foundational understanding of accounting principles appreciated but not required
* Comfortable in a collegiate, open and meritocratic environment
* Is prepared to be office based in Garforth (East Leeds) full time
* Salary dependent on candidate level & experience
