Trizo Ltd are a successful electronics manufacturing company based in Bridgwater, Somerset. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Department Team Leader to join the business and support the day-to-day running of the PCB & Test department.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a small team to carry out visual inspection of assembled PCBs and electronic assemblies, ensuring products meet both internal quality standards and customer requirements. The role also includes overseeing product testing processes and supporting the Test Engineer in delivering accurate customer test results.
This position involves managing a team of 3–5 people, maintaining high-quality standards, resolving inspection issues, and supporting continuous improvement within the department. Success in this role means ensuring product quality, supporting on-time delivery (OTD), and maintaining efficient inspection and testing processes.
Responsibilities
* Manage and lead a team of 3–5 people within the Quality department
* Carry out inspection of PCBs to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards using magnification equipment, AOI, and X‑ray
* Liaise with the Production Manager to ensure on‑time deliveries (OTDs) are achieved
* Support Production Technicians by identifying faults and providing feedback and training
* Manage and resolve inspection queries and raise NCRs where required
* Monitor build quality and report any quality issues
* Oversee and support product testing alongside the Test Engineer
* Ensure customer test results are completed accurately
* Action rework where necessary to maintain quality standards
Qualifications
* Understanding of component identification (resistors, capacitors, ICs)
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials (BOMs)
* Previous inspection and assembly experience to IPC-A-610 Class 2 minimum (Class 3 desirable)
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy
* Ability to concentrate on repetitive tasks for extended periods
* Ability to work effectively to deadlines alongside the Production Manager
* Proactive approach to daily and monthly company requirements
* Excellent communication skills at all levels
* Experience with FAIRs to AS9100
* Knowledge of root cause analysis tools (5 Whys, 8D)
* Demonstrated experience managing people
* Good oral and written English skills
Salary & Benefits
* Salary: Dependent on experience (DOE)
* Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00 am–5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am–2:30 pm
* Holidays: 28 days annual leave plus 3 days Christmas shutdown
