What We Do:Supporting students and graduates in preparing for the job market by offering guidance on career planning, job searching, CV and interview preparation, and connecting them with employers through events, internships, and placement opportunities. Working to enhance students' employability skills and ensure a smooth transition from education to the workplace.

The role:The Data Technician will contribute to the enhancement of student employability and supporting students as they transition into the world of work. You will be at the forefront of collecting, organising, interpreting, and producing high-quality analysis from a variety of data sources.

What the role involves:

* To create and maintain data dashboards, using packages such as Excel and/or PowerBI, for GBS engagement reporting, careers activity tracking and other purposes to support the delivery of the GBS strategic aims.
* To take responsibility for the integration and analysis of a range of datasets of relevance to GBS, its graduates and wider graduate labour markets.
* To produce and synthesise multiple data sets and provide data in relevant formats for use by different institutional clients, including for strategic planning, performance monitoring, publicity and marketing purposes, utilising the necessary data cleaning and verification processes, in adherence with relevant data governance and data quality assurance.
* To identify, analyse and interpret creatively and innovatively trends or patterns in relevant datasets related to student career statuses, engagement with services offered, progression and graduate career outcomes to inform strategic planning by GBS and its stakeholders.
* To proactively develop new reports and analyses to inform GBS’s service planning and strategy and liaise with departments and data collection teams.
* Flexible in working hours to cover evening and weekend demands as necessary.


What Experience/Skills are required:

* Strong ability to analyse, model, and interpret data.
* Experience in creating dashboards (e.g. PowerBI).
* Advanced Excel skills.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and high levels of attention to detail.
* Strong written and spoken communication skills, including report preparation.
* Ability to adapt and engage in self-directed learning.
* Innovative approach to linking datasets for new insights.
* Ability to work to tight deadlines.
* Minimum GCSEs grade C or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
