Job Overview
Due to increasing demand on our services, we are excited to offer the opportunity for a fixed term Medical Oncologist with an interest in breast to join our team. This post is key to the continued development and delivery of cancer services to the population of Dorset. This is a 10 PA role, but part-time or compressed working will also be considered.
The role will involve covering the management of cancer patients from MDT referral through to treatment with Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy. This will include direct in-patient provision including 'consultant of the week' cover and also advise through ward referrals for patients admitted under other specialities, as well as Outpatient clinics.

Person specification
Education And Qualifications
Essential criteria
* Full GMC registration
* FRCR or eequivalent
* Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT (or CCT date within 6 months of interview)
Desirable criteria
* Advanced Communications training
Experience And Effectivness
Essential criteria
* Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of adult patients
* Demonstrate use of evidence based practice
* Demonstrate evidence of sub-specialty / specific tumour site training
Desirable criteria
* Willing and able to help develop oncology services
Knowledge And Skills
Essential criteria
* Teaching and audit experience
* Experience of / ability to supervise and train junior doctors
* Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual, multi-professional and team basis with all levels of staff
