Main duties of the job
You will lead our Stores team, supervising and supporting them, providing clarity on tasks, supporting their development, and emphasizing their crucial role in patient and staff care.
The Procurement and Catering Store role is vital for efficient in-house catering services. It involves managing procurement, maintaining inventory, and overseeing daily store operations.
You will assist with the operation of Catering Stores, ensuring accurate goods receipt, stock management, and security of incoming goods.
Responsibilities include managing the computerized receipting system, overseeing goods delivery, and maintaining accurate records. You will also be responsible for health, safety, and security in the goods receiving and production areas, overseeing orders with NHS Supply Chain via Atticus, and placing ad-hoc requisitions as needed.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
* Communicate effectively with colleagues about catering tasks and service needs.
* Assist in staff coordination and management as a first-line supervisor.
* Help manage performance issues, including attendance and conduct, following Trust policies.
* Monitor and manage sickness and absence, including conducting return-to-work interviews.
* Prepare staff rotas and allocate duties to ensure timely task completion.
* Handle stock ordering, distribution, storage, and procurement, including using ELFS, Atticus, and/or iProcurement systems.
* Maintain and develop personal competence.

Qualifications and Education
* NVC Level 3 in Business Admin or equivalent experience in Procurement/logistics
* NVQ Level 3 in Supervision or relevant experience
* Level 3/Intermediate Certificate in Food Hygiene
* COSHH
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience in a stores/stock control environment
* Experience in ordering and receipting goods
* Awareness of confidentiality in NHS settings
* Experience dealing with the public
* Experience in large-scale catering stores
