Job Purpose and work duties Job purpose: To be able to look after my 9 year old child who is autistic, non-verbal, has a learning disability and requires continence support. To support my child within the home and accessing social opportunities within the community. Helping to assist me in looking after him and taking him to places outside of the home. Work Duties will include: · To look after him within the home. · To look after, assist, interact and support him in participating in activities both within the home and outside of the home. · Helping him to develop on his transition skills whilst outside of the home. · Initially to help with assisting me to take him out to places, with the long term goal for you to be able to do this without me. Other requirements: · Establishing and maintaining effective communication with the child and their parents, maintaining confidentiality. · Always ensuring the safety of the child. · To prepare meals, snacks and drinks for him. · To change his pull ups when required and clothing if necessary. · Whilst out, helping to get him to and from the car. Requirements for applicant: · Imagination in relation to activities to undertake. · Good sense of humour. · High level of patience and to be able to remain calm. · Flexible, reliable and honest. · Physically fit, agile and energetic. · Understanding of autism is essential. · Highly experienced in looking after children with autism, non-verbal, learning disabilities, high needs and challenging behaviours. · Full driving license (business insurance within your policy only required if you are taking him in your own car). · DBS Check will be completed. · A right to work in the UK will be checked. Location – Walderslade Woods, Kent. Number of PA roles available – 1-2. Salary: £12.21 per hour increasing to £12.71 per hour on the 1st April 2026. Hours: Term Time – 4 hours per week Non-Term Time - 8 hours per week Hours required would be a combination of weekdays and weekends. No set dates, so it would be as and when required.
