Equans is looking for a Security Officer to join our team in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, B15 2WB on a permanent basis. This is a full time position working 42 hours per week. On offer is a salary of £30,169.00 per year and benefits package.
Shift Pattern: 12hrs shift. 2 days 07:00-19:00hrs – 2 nights 19:00-07:00hrs, 4 days off.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security of all hospital areas.
* Monitor security cameras and alarms to identify potential security risks.
* Respond to emergencies, including medical emergencies and security breaches.
* Assist with the management of access control systems and visitor management procedures.
* Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement agencies as necessary.
* Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff members.
Requirements
Essential:
* Applicants with prior security, law enforcement, or military experience are preferred.
* Clear DBS standard level clearance.
* Hold an SIA Licence.
* Full 5 years address history.
* Full 5 years work or education history.
Preferred:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Clear written communication skills.
* Knowledge of security procedures and protocols.
* Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
* Additional training in security or related fields is a plus.
* Display customer-focused behaviour.
* Demonstrate respect, flexibility, and confidence.
* Awareness of healthcare environment sensitivities.
* Making a difference by contributing to the safety and well‑being of patients and staff.
* Basic IT literacy, including confidence using computers, emails and security systems.
* Ability to write clear, accurate reports and incident logs.
