Senior Service Designer
HM Revenue & Customs is looking for a Senior Service Designer.
HMRC’s services are complex, and this role requires a passion for user‑centred design and the ability to tackle tricky problems while considering how services and policies interact.
Primary responsibilities include providing service design expertise across multiple services, developing user‑centred services that meet user needs and fulfil business outcomes, using best practice and standards to design usable and inclusive services, analysing pain points and creating recommendations, mapping current service journeys and designing blueprints, communicating complex information, building collaborative relationships with senior stakeholders, and facilitating design‑led decision making.
Person Specification
* Line‑manage, coach and mentor Service Designers.
* Lead peer review sessions to uphold design standards.
* Actively participate in HMRC and cross‑government design communities.
* Seek opportunities for learning and improvement.
Experience and Understanding
* Designing large or complex services across all channels.
* Using user research and data to inform design decisions.
* Communicating complex information clearly.
* Planning and facilitating workshops with senior stakeholders.
* Engaging with teams to build shared understanding and facilitate design‑led decision‑making.
* Experience leading, managing, coaching or mentoring people.
