Overview
Nuclear Senior Process Engineer (Full-time / Part-time) position at AtkinsRéalis. AtkinsRéalis is looking to grow our team of process engineers within the Nuclear EMEA business. If you have the passion to join some of these exciting projects, we would love to hear from you.
We work collaboratively to solve technical challenges across the entire project lifecycle, from concept design to decommissioning. Our day to day activities include production of process engineering deliverables (process sizing calculations, heat & material balances, P&IDs, etc.), process modelling, and process safety activities (HAZID/HAZOP studies, DSEAR assessments, etc.). We collaborate across the AtkinsRéalis business to provide our technical expertise where it is needed the most, giving our clients the best engineering solutions. Roles may involve embedded resource within client offices, site-based work, or in-house engineering support from AtkinsRéalis offices.
Responsibilities
* Produce process engineering deliverables (process sizing calculations, heat & material balances, P&IDs, etc.).
* Perform process modelling and support process simulations to design, optimise and troubleshoot chemical processes.
* Conduct process safety activities (HAZID/HAZOP studies, DSEAR assessments, etc.).
* Collaborate across projects and with clients to provide high-quality engineering solutions.
* Lead a small team of engineers, engage with clients, and understand the commercial aspects of the work.
* Mentor and guide junior engineers and take a key role within the department.
Qualifications
* Qualified engineers (BEng/MEng in Chemical or Process Engineering).
* IChemE chartership is desirable.
* Experience in the nuclear industry is ideal; understanding of nuclear basics is expected.
* Experience with chemical process simulation software and model-based systems approaches (MBSA) is a plus.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to mentor junior engineers and participate in leadership within the department.

This role may require security clearance and offers are dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. Vetting is conducted by UK Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require five years or more of UK residency.
