Job Description
3. raft, proofread, and format legal documents including pleadings, affidavits, subpoenas, discovery requests, court forms, and correspondence.
4. File legal documents with courts and other agencies electronically or in person, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines and procedures.
5. Maintain and organize physical and digital case files, ensuring confidentiality and accessibility.
6. Manage attorney calendars including court dates, client meetings, deadlines, and travel arrangements.
7. Communicate professionally with clients, court staff, and opposing counsel.
8. Prepare and process billing statements, time entries, and expense reports.
9. Assist with trial preparation including exhibits, witness lists, and legal research as directed.
10. Monitor and follow up on case progress and deadlines using case management software.
11. Handle incoming calls, emails, and mail, responding or redirecting as appropriate
The Successful Applicant
12. Proven experience as a Legal Secretary or Legal Assistant, preferably in Family Law.
13. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems
14. Strong knowledge of family law procedures, terminology, and court filing systems.
15. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
16. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
17. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
