Performing Arts Graduates – SEN Teaching Assistant Roles in Durham
Teaching Personnel is recruiting Performing Arts graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants across Durham schools. Starting immediately or January 2026. Schools need TAs who can use creative approaches (drama, movement, music, role play) to engage students with additional needs.
What you'll be doing:
Supporting students with SEN on a 1:1 or small group basis. Using your creative skills to help them engage with learning, build confidence, develop communication and social skills. Working with SENCOs and teachers to adapt materials. Helping with emotional regulation and creating calm, encouraging environments.
You need:
* Performing Arts degree (or similar creative subject)
* Confidence and ability to engage students creatively
* Good communication, patience, empathy
* Genuine interest in working with children with additional needs
* Experience with young people helps but isn't essential
What you get:
* £90 to £100 daily rate

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
