Overview
As the Head of Bridges and Structures, you will be a key member of the leadership team that spans Rail, Structures, and Ground Engineering (RSGE) at AECOM. You will steer strategy, growth, and operational excellence for the Bridges and Structures sub‑sector, reporting directly to the Head of RSGE. Your focus will be on business development, portfolio optimisation, and maintaining industry‑leading technical and client delivery standards.

Key Responsibilities
* Strategic Leadership: develop and execute the Bridges and Structures business strategy, align with RSGE and AECOM objectives, and drive business growth through new opportunities and portfolio optimisation.
* Team & Operational Excellence: lead 350 professionals, foster an inclusive environment, ensure a safe and engaged workforce, and maintain effective internal communication.
* Client and Market Engagement: cultivate relationships with key clients (National Rail, local authorities, contractors and developers), champion multidisciplinary collaboration, and support account management with market intelligence.
* Quality, Safety & Technical Excellence: uphold the highest standards in technical excellence, safety and quality, promote work‑sharing initiatives and governance.
* Market Intelligence & Industry Trends: monitor industry trends, emerging technologies and policy changes, and participate in high‑profile industry events.
Qualifications
* A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant discipline and membership in a recognised professional body.
* Extensive leadership experience within the Bridges and Structures industry with proven business growth and delivery of strategic KPIs.
* Strong background in Client Account Management (CAM), technical excellence, and safety/quality leadership.
* Exceptional communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills and a strategic mindset.
