Role Purpose
The EYFS Teaching Assistant will work closely with the EYFS lead and class teacher to support children aged 3–5. The role involves:
* Delivering structured and play-based activities that promote learning across all EYFS areas
* Providing one-to-one or small group support for children with additional needs
* Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
You will be instrumental in ensuring children with SEN or EAL can access learning and build confidence in the classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of the EYFS curriculum through both adult-led and child-initiated activities
* Assist with phonics, early literacy, numeracy, and creative learning
* Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN or EAL
* Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and self-regulation
* Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and daily activities including snack time, outdoor play, and circle time
* Observe, assess, and document children’s progress
* Collaborate effectively with teachers, SENCO, external specialists, and parents
* Maintain safeguarding, health, and safety standards at all times
The Ideal Candidate
