Are you an experienced Assistant Team Manager or an aspiring Senior Social Worker ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a passionate and committed professional to join our Family Safeguarding Team at Bracknell Forest.
About the Role: As an Assistant Team Manager, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and supporting families by working closely with our dedicated Team Manager to lead and develop the team. You will be directly responsible for supervising and supporting Social Workers, including newly qualified staff, students, and support personnel.
This role involves chairing Child in Need (CIN) meetings, first Child and Family Group Meetings (CGMs), and attending Looked After Children (CLA) reviews and conferences, all of which are held in person at schools or our offices. Therefore, this role cannot be fully remote, and the successful candidate must be able to work on-site three days a week and attend in-person meetings as required.
Key Responsibilities:
Deputise for the Team Manager when necessary.
Provide supervision and support to Social Workers and other team members.
Chair CIN meetings and first CGMs.
Ensure effective planning and intervention for children and families.
Drive performance, contribute to recruitment and retention efforts, and support overall service delivery.About You: We’re looking for someone who:
Is a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
Has substantial post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care.
Has experience in management or supervision.
Possesses strong assessment and analytical skills.
Can build effective relationships and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
