Forge Talent have partnered with an industry leading business as they have a requirement for additional senior support within their Purchase Ledger Team.
This newly created role will sit between the Purchase Ledger Manager and the wider team.
An ideal position for somebody with an established background in the end to end payables function who is seeking an opportunity that will enable them to utilise and further develop their experience in a leadership capacity.
As a subject matter expert, you will be responsible for the management of escalated queries, developing larger supplier relationships, demonstrating best practice and process improvements to the team and identifying and addressing training needs, providing cover for the Purchase Ledger Manager as required.
Purchase Ledger Lead Role Overview:
* Ensure the timely and accurate processing of a high volume of supplier invoices (matching of PO’s and goods in notes via a 3-way process)
* Authorising invoices for payment on weekly, monthly and biweekly payment runs.
* Ensuring regular supplier statement reconciliations are completed and that any outstanding invoices are chased.
* Maintaining control over any supplier queries, proactively working to reach prompt resolutions thus reducing delays to supplier payments.
* Proactively working to adhere to individual supplier terms, ensuring strong relationships are maintained.
* Auditing and monitoring supplier terms and agreements regularly, amending and updating as required.
* Monitoring and maintenance of the aged creditor listing.
* Maintenance and monitoring of the Purchase Order process.
* Identifying and addressing any training and development opportunities within the team.
* Supporting continuous improvements and identifying advancement opportunities.
* Monitoring and reviewing team KPI’s as required.
Purchase Ledger Lead Required Experience:
* Established experience in an end-to-end Purchase Ledger position, ideally gained in a larger business environment.
* Previous experience of working in a senior capacity with exposure to leadership is highly advantageous.
* A genuine interest in advancing further in a Purchase Ledger career path.
* A detail focussed mind set with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy.
* Problem solving and query resolution abilities.
* Time management skills with the ability to effectively delegate and prioritise tasks inline with the requirements of the business
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with suppliers and team members.
* A motivated, positive and proactive approach to the role and achieving best results
* Strong IT, computerised systems and excel skills.
* The ability to work alongside and motivate a team.
To maintain and support the excellent working environment and office culture that our client has built, this is an office-based role. Applicants must be able to travel to the office and therefore currently live within a commutable distance of Golborne/ Wigan.
