Are you an experienced CAD Technician with SolidWorks experience looking to join a successful UK manufacturer?
We are seeking a Design & CAD Technician to join our growing Design & Technical team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience producing manufacturing drawings and 3D models who enjoys working closely with production, sales and engineering teams.
You'll play a key role in turning customer requirements into accurate manufacturing drawings and production-ready designs while supporting the continued development of innovative products.
The Role
As a Design & CAD Technician, your responsibilities will include:
* Creating, modifying and maintaining accurate 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks
* Converting customer and sales requirements into practical, manufacturable designs
* Producing detailed technical drawings for manufacturing and production teams
* Managing multiple design requests and prioritising workload to meet deadlines
* Working closely with production teams to resolve design-related queries
* Liaising with sales teams to clarify requirements and minimise rework
* Supporting the creation of high-quality 3D models and product visuals for marketing purposes
* Applying engineering judgement, material awareness and manufacturing knowledge to designs
* Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and design enhancements
What We're Looking ForEssential
* Previous experience using SolidWorks within a manufacturing, engineering or product design environment
* Experience producing 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D models
* Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles
* Strong attention to detail
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
* Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach
Desirable
* Experience within metal fabrication, sheet metal or manufacturing sectors
* Knowledge of Design for Manufacture (DFM)
* Experience creating product renderings or marketing visuals
* Engineering, Design or CAD-related qualification
