We are seeking an experienced, confident, and highly motivated Year 6 Teacher to join a supportive and ambitious primary school in Redbridge. This is a key role within the school and offers an excellent opportunity to work with pupils during their final year of primary education, supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally as they prepare for the transition to secondary school.
The successful candidate will take full responsibility for a Year 6 class, delivering high-quality teaching across the National Curriculum with a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, and exam preparation. You will maintain high expectations for achievement and behaviour, ensuring pupils feel supported, challenged, and confident in their abilities. A calm, consistent, and structured classroom environment will be essential in helping pupils thrive.
Assessment will be central to your role. You will use a range of formative and summative strategies to track progress, identify gaps in learning, and implement targeted interventions to support pupil outcomes. Experience with SATs preparation is desirable, and you will work closely with colleagues across Upper Key Stage 2 to ensure consistency and continuity.
You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants, the SENCo, and senior leaders to support pupils with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs. Strong communication with parents and carers is highly valued, and you will be supported in building positive partnerships that contribute to pupil success.
This role is suitable for experienced teachers or confident practitioners with strong Upper Key Stage 2 experience. The school places a strong emphasis on professional development, teamwork, and staff wellbeing.
