NPI Procurement Lead

Hybrid role, 2-3 days in office (Marlborough,MA)
Summary
The Sr. Manager, NPI Procurement Lead will provide end-to-end procurement leadership for new product initiatives. Embedded in R&D, this role ensures sourcing and supplier strategies are integrated early in the design process to enable on-time, cost-effective launches. With direct responsibility for critical parts and assemblies, the NPI Procurement Lead balances cost, technical requirements, and logistical risk while collaborating across Ex Ops, engineering, and program management to achieve corporate objectives.
This position will also serve as a critical liaison between both internal and external manufacturing teams, ensuring alignment on build readiness and production ramp. In addition, the role will oversee transition management of current manufacturing inventories for impacted components, supporting continuity of supply and operational efficiency.
Essential Job Functions
* Lead Procurement for NPI activities across assigned programs.
* Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers (mechanical/electrical) to secure cost-effective, high-quality outcomes.
* Partner with R&D, marketing, and supply chain to drive successful product launches.
* Provide procurement reports and updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.
* Serve as SME on procurement and NPI, advising and supporting internal teams.
* Manage POs for prototype and production parts, from quick-turns through design release.
* Coordinate inventory transitions for legacy and new parts with manufacturing.
* Monitor device USMCA compliance and tariff exposure tied to Country of and costed BOMs.
* Represent client professionally with suppliers and external stakeholders.
* Manage part quotations with engineering and CM partners, aligning on pricing strategies.
* Assess supply paths and support supplier onboarding with SQE.
* Oversee supplier readiness, including First Article Inspections (FAIs).
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent
* 5+ years of procurement experience with at least 2 years of NPI or new product launch
* Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
* Experience working with contract manufacturers or suppliers
* Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
