SGP Drumnadrochit — Salaried GP in Rural Practice at NHS Highland
Part Time, Fixed Term Position – 23 hours per week. Salary scale £98,238 to £110,736 per annum.
About the Practice
Drumnadrochit Medical Practice is located near Loch Ness in the Highlands. The practice population is approximately 2,400 patients. There is an administrative support team, a Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant; input from Community Nursing, the Macmillan Service, a Clinical Pharmacist, First Contact Physiotherapist, Community Mental Health worker, visiting Podiatrist and Midwife. A nearby pharmacy provides support and in nearby Dingwall the Puffin Pool offers physiotherapy hydrotherapy referrals. The practice premises were purpose-built in 2015 and provide spacious, modern accommodation. There are regular GP meetings and practice meetings, with links into the Black Isle Corridor Cluster. The Drumnadrochit Patient Participation Group was established in 2002 and continues to meet. The practice uses Vision clinical system and Docman for receiving electronic results and letters from secondary care, with Windows 10 operating system. The practice boundary includes Drumnadrochit, Tomich and parts of Cannich. Inverness is about 15 miles away with Raigmore Hospital; the nearest railway station is Inverness, and the airport is roughly 24 miles from Drumnadrochit. Drumnadrochit is a vibrant rural community with local amenities, an educational campus, and the Craigmonie Centre which hosts a range of facilities and activities. The area hosts Highland Games and annual events; Drumnadrochit is well placed for exploring the Highlands. As part of a wider 2C Board Managed Practice network, there may be opportunities to work in other locations by agreement; dependent on the return of the substantive GP team, you may be required to work in another location by agreement. Responsibilities
* Provide GP services and contribute to continuity of care for a practice population of around 2,400.
* Potential duty cover for part or full days (not out of hours).
* Collaborate with the administrative team, Practice Nurse and Health Care Assistant, and multidisciplinary colleagues (Community Nursing, Macmillan Service, Clinical Pharmacist, First Contact Physiotherapist, Community Mental Health worker, visiting Podiatrist and Midwife).
* Participate in regular GP meetings and practice meetings; engage with the Black Isle Corridor Cluster.
* Use the Vision clinical system and Docman for electronic results and letters.
