Commercial Director: Superb opportunity at this award-winning and expanding, Medium-sized Multidisciplinary Consultancy. This hybrid is role based in Uxbridge.
Overview
Our client is an award-winning multi-disciplinary group of Environmental and Engineering specialists comprising civil, structural, and geotechnical / geo environmental engineers who deliver a variety of complex construction challenges, site investigations, land contamination risk assessments, geotechnical engineering surveys, flood risk assessments, amongst other surveys, and have years of expertise in adopting a pragmatic approach to complex engineering challenges.
They are seeking an ambitious and talented Commercial Director to join the senior management team. This is a pivotal role with clear targets and excellent long-term prospects. The successful candidate will drive business development, optimise client relationships, and lead commercial growth strategies across multiple sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales Growth
* Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities.
* Expand and optimise the client base through proactive engagement.
* Develop and implement sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
Client Relationship Management
* Attend client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
* Build strong, long‑term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
* Ensure exceptional customer service and satisfaction.
Commercial Strategy & Leadership
* Contribute to strategic planning as part of the senior management team.
* Set and monitor clear sales and revenue targets.
* Oversee contract negotiations and ensure profitable outcomes.
* Provide leadership and mentoring to sales and business development teams.
Operational & Financial Oversight
* Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy.
* Manage budgets, forecasts, and profit margins.
* Drive efficiency and profitability across commercial operations.
Requirements
* Proven track record in sales, business development, and commercial leadership.
* Background in construction or related industries is advantageous.
* Multi‑discipline background across different sectors or service lines would be a strong advantage.
* Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills.
* Strategic thinker with the ability to deliver against clear targets.
* Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, balancing office, client site, and event attendance.
* Ambitious, results‑driven, and motivated by long‑term growth opportunities.
