Youth Worker Position at a School in Barking & Dagenham
A fantastic school in Barking & Dagenham is looking to appoint a Youth Worker to support pupils with additional learning or behavioural needs.
This role suits candidates who understand the challenges faced by young people today and are passionate about contributing to their personal and academic development.
Your experience does not necessarily need to be in a school environment; experience working or volunteering in youth groups, sports coaching, after-school clubs, or the care sector is also valuable.
Positions available: Full-time and part-time
Responsibilities include:
* Handling situations calmly and sensitively
* Being creative and thinking outside the box in supporting pupils with additional needs
* Caring deeply about pupils' academic, emotional, and personal development, showing empathy for their individual circumstances
* Having a supportive and encouraging attitude to inspire trust and motivate students
* Working closely with staff and parents to bring about positive change for each child
* Using initiative to meet the individual needs of students, considering their communication and learning skills

Pay rates include statutory holiday pay of 12.07%. This is a temporary position, with potential for permanent roles later.
