The Role
As an Assistant Planner, you'll play a key role in supporting planning projects across Cornwall and beyond. Your responsibilities will include:
* Assisting with preparing, submitting, and managing planning applications
* Conducting research, site appraisals, and feasibility studies
* Supporting senior planners with client engagement, stakeholder liaison, and planning strategies
* Drafting reports, correspondence, and supporting documentation for planning submissions
* Contributing to a variety of projects across residential, agricultural, and land development sectors
* Gaining exposure to the planning process from pre-application advice to appeals and enforcement
About You
We're looking for a motivated individual eager to grow and develop in a professional planning environment. The ideal candidate will have:
* A degree in Town Planning or a related discipline (RTPI accredited or working towards accreditation)
* Strong research, written, and communication skills
* An interest in property, land, and development planning
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
* A proactive, positive approach with a genuine interest in developing a career in planning
